Barley Brook

Barley Brook Care Home is a Victorian property that has had an extension added into a modern care accommodation, retaining much of its original charm offering residential, dementia and respite care at Barley Brook, with the service having proven effective in assisting with an extensive range of personal needs, our Good CQC rating reflects this.
Barley Brook sits between Standish Village and Wigan Town Centre. Both areas are on a regular Bus Route and is worth a visit to both.
The Town Centre has mainly high street stores. Standish Village offers smaller shops, boutiques and quaint little tea rooms.
The Home is set in its own grounds in the residential area of Standish in Wigan close to the main Hospital. Car parking is available at the front of the premises.
Barley Brook is situated over three floors with single bedrooms and Ensuites.
There is a lift to the first and second floors
All rooms comply with the appropriate standard.
Each room is attractively decorated in a bright and cheerful colour scheme.
The furniture is homely.

There are two main rooms, a large sunny lounge area and a spacious dining area with adjacent quiet lounge.
Each room has a large television and music system.
They are both furnished in a traditional style with a range of comfortable chairs.

The gardens are well established with all areas being well maintained by our gardener who takes great pride to ensure that all areas are safe for the Service users to walk through, sit and enjoy the different plants and shrubbery areas.
The gardens can be accessed easily through the back corridor and down the ramp
Our ultimate goal is to provide an environment that all Service users can regard as their own. We recognise that a care home must be run to meet the needs of the Service user, and that their wishes are paramount.

We aim to offer care that is to the highest standard and is tailored around each individuals wishes and choices. Service users wishes will be respected at all times ensuring that plans of care involve the individual and their families.

We aim to provide care that is non-discriminatory and has underpinning care values that include, privacy, dignity, independence, choice, equality, respect and security.
