About Us

Arch 169 (House 169) is a specialist residential care service located in Chellaston, Derby, providing high-quality, person-centred support for young adults aged 18–65 with complex needs, including learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that may challenge.

The service is designed to promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing within a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. Arch 169 accommodates up to six individuals within the main house, with additional provision available in a self-contained annex, offering flexibility to meet a range of support needs.

The home provides a comfortable and homely environment, with a range of communal and therapeutic spaces including a lounge, dining area, cinema room, activity room, sensory room, and quiet lounge. Each individual has their own private bedroom, most with ensuite facilities, supporting privacy and personal choice.

At Arch 169, support is tailored to each person’s individual needs, preferences, and goals. Staff work closely with individuals, families, and professionals to develop personalised care plans that promote skill development, emotional wellbeing, and meaningful engagement in daily life. This includes support with personal care, medication, communication, community access, and participation in activities.

The service places a strong emphasis on positive behaviour support, communication strategies (including tools such as Makaton where appropriate), and proactive engagement to enhance quality of life. Individuals are encouraged and supported to take part in activities both within the home and in the wider community, promoting inclusion and social connection.

Arch 169 is committed to maintaining high standards of care, safety, and governance. The service operates in line with regulatory requirements and best practice guidance, with robust systems in place for safeguarding, health and safety, medication management, and continuous quality improvement.
